BIOGRAPHY

Alissa Rossius is one of the most promising artists of her generation. Her flute playing is admired for her golden tone, spirited performances and effortless technique.
She has performed frequently as soloist, with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Dresdner Kapellsolisten, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the South West German Chamber Orchestra and the Budapest Strings.

Aged just 23 she won the position as Solo Flute of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and has performed as guest Solo Flute with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and with the Bavarian State Opera.

From young age she has been a frequently featured artist at the Bavarian Radio, live and in studio recordings with orchestra, in chamber music and with piano; she has recorded as soloist with the Bamberger Symphoniker with the conductors Jonathan Nott and Gabriel Feltz.

Alissa Rossius won several times the first prize at the nationwide competition Jugend Musiziert, at the age of 15 she was finalist at the 13th International Flute Competition Friedrich Kuhlau and at the age of 16 she won the first prize at the International Flute Competition Oberstdorf.

Born in Munich Alissa Rossius started to play the flute at the age of four, studying with her mother and was accepted to study at the age of ten at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich where she studied with Andrea Lieberknecht, Philippe Boucly and Marianne Henkel- Adorján.
From young age Alissa Rossius received formative musical education by Wolfram Graul.
Masterclasses with Jacques Zoon, Peter-Lukas Graf, András Adorján and lessons with Emmanuel Pahud, Henrik Wiese and Paolo Taballione completed her studies.
With 16 years of age she became a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and was later on a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy.
